Yep, Google has entered the Social Media arena. They have created Google Buzz, a new way to share updates, photos, videos and more. Google Buzz is integrated into Gmail and automatically lets you follow the people you e-mail the most.
As with most Social Media tools you can start conversations, comment and like or dislike a post. All the information you share on Google Buzz is updated in real-time though.
Tjongolongo, yet another Social Media tool, I’m not sure whether it’s a good thing or a bad thing. It’s an interesting one though, I will take a look at it as soon as my account is Buzz ready. I don’t know if I’ll be a ‘Buzzer’ and start ‘buzzing’ though, it all depends on how many of my friends will be using the tool as well.
I do think this tool has a lot of potential though. The fact that it’s integrated into Gmail is a BIG plus for me (that’s one feature I currently miss with Google Wave!). I also like the fact that you can flick through photo’s easily and quickly. The fact that it’s very easy to choose who you want to share your content with whether it’s publicly or privately to a customised group it’s very easy just pick and click.
You can also use Google Buzz on your mobile phone. The Buzz application will even locate where you are and can include it in your post. The interesting bit about this is that you will also be able to see the buzz around you. If other people have been buzzing publicly around your location you can check out what they have been buzzing about.
Now if only they can integrate Buzz and Gmail with Wave, that would definitely make me go tjongolongo!
Do you think you will be using Google Buzz?
